I use Excel for pretty reports. One way to do this is to create an Excel workbook with two sheets. Call that workbook Report_template. Export data from Access, then copy the data into sheet two of Report_template. Create your pretty report in sheet one of Report_template, using formulas to pull data from sheet two. When you have the report set up the way you want it in Report_template, save Report_template. Then use "save as" to save this particular report as Report_YYYYMMDD. Select all cells in sheet one of Report_YYYYMMDD, copy, and paste special values & formats, then delete sheet two and save. Setting the template up takes some time and knowledge of Excel formulas, but once it's designed, you can update your pretty report by replacing the data in sheet two of the template, then doing the save as procedure. You can create a pretty report in Access, if you have the Access skills, but the learning curve for Access is much steeper than the learning curve for Excel.
