Hello,

Looking for collective wisdom. We have been a depository for K-12 textbooks for citizen review purposes. We received sample copies of textbooks up for consideration by the state on an annual cycle with different subjects being evaluated each year. At the end of the review cycle we added approved copies to a segregated "sample textbook" collection, which saw pretty steady use from patrons doing student teaching or employees home-schooling their children.

The state is abandoning the print copy review in favor of online review, meaning we will no longer receive samples in print. We are reviewing whether we should maintain this collection as a discrete collection, integrate these books into our main collection and in either case weed these textbooks, many of which are now approaching ten years in age. I was wondering if anyone out there maintained such a collection and if so if you had any particular criteria for review/retention beyond the usual (age, condition, use, etc.).

Thanks.
