Subject: [ACQNET-L] inclusion or exclusion of embargoed STL titles in DDA pool?
Colleagues,
At Wake Forest University, we decided to exclude from our DDA pool the titles embargoed from STL for the duration of the embargo period. We aren't keen on using mediation because we don't like putting that obstacle in front of our patrons and we didn't like the other option of immediate triggered purchase. Has anyone else decided to exclude the embargoed titles or is everyone using mediation as a solution?
If you are using mediation, are you gathering data on how often:
a) mediation happens (especially relative to embargo)
b) you are making the e-book purchase
c) you are guiding patrons to another solution (like finding a similar resource)
