DIY Toolbox: Library Innovation on a Shoestring
SUNYLA Midwinter Online Conference
January 30, 2015
Show us your tools!
New low cost and free technology tools are constantly being developed in
this digital age, and it can be hard to keep up. SUNYLA is looking to
tap into the librarian hive mind to share best practices for
implementing online tools in the library. The SUNYLA Midwinter Online
Conference planning committee is seeking proposals describing your
favorite free or low-cost tech tool(s) and how you’re using them in your
library. Have an innovative way to use Google Docs? Want to show us your
favorite low-cost instruction tools? Using a new open source graphic
design program for PR? Share your experience with your colleagues!
Presentations should be 15-20 minutes in length, in a format that best
suits your topic. Presentations should include a demonstration of how
you’re using your tool(s), what you’ve learned that other librarians
should know, and any positive/negative feedback that you’ve received.
Technology requirements: Computer, internet connection,
microphone/speakers (headset recommended) or telephone, quiet space for
presenting, webcam optional
Accepting proposals until Monday, December 1, 2014. Submit your proposal
