Position Opening: Head of Guin Library, Oregon State University
Oregon State University Libraries & Press (OSUL&P) invites applications
for the position of Head of Guin Library, a full-time (1.00 FTE),
12-month, tenure track faculty position. The Guin Library is located at
the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport, Oregon.
We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking leader to manage
the daily operations of the Guin Library, and to develop new initiatives
that will keep the library at the heart of HMSC’s dynamic and
rapidly-growing campus. Strong collaborative skills are essential; HMSC
currently hosts research and education programs from seven OSU colleges
and six state and federal agencies. As an active member of the HMSC
faculty, the successful candidate will build relationships with OSU
faculty, staff and students, and also with state, federal and visiting
scientists. He or she will develop policies and programs to meet the
needs of this specialized campus, and as a member of OSUL&P’s leadership
team will balance those needs with OSUL&P’s strategic goals and
priorities. OSU plans to significantly expand the HMSC in the future,
and this position will have a unique opportunity to shape the
development of library services for that initiative.
