ALCTS Webinar: Libraries and MOOCs: Role, Opportunities, Pitfalls

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Sessions begin at 11 am Pacific | 12 Mountain | 1 pm Central | 2 pm
Eastern and last about an hour.

Description

As campuses debate the opportunities and impacts of MOOCs, libraries are
also exploring the changing teaching and learning environment. This
webinar will explore the variety of roles and skills associated with
successful MOOCs, including partnerships to be fostered, opportunities
to build on existing expertise, and questions about relevance to library
missions.

Presenter

Sarah Bordac is the Head of Instructional Design for the Brown
University Library, and has worked on the development of MOOCs at Brown
University. She works with issues of media and information literacy
curriculum in undergraduate teaching and learning, which draw on her
skills as a librarian, instructional designer, educational technologist
in museum, library and higher education learning environments. Sarah has
an M.A. in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University and an MLIS
from Simmons College.
