You do not need to buy public performance rights for classroom use.
Publishers and distributors are asserting a right they do not have.  The
stickers and the claims have no more legal weight than you putting up a
sign at the Packer's Games saying "Any people wanting to discuss of the
game after its conclusion must pay the NFL $2."
