I am trying to reach the largest communities of potential candidates for
a remarkable, interesting job for an acquisitions professional to build
a large print and electronic collection in a brand new library (and
manage acquisitions, collections, and an ILS collections implementation
in a current temporary location). A new iii Sierra ILS implementation
awaits this manager. A non-U.S. citizen with English competency & skill
is fine, provided they have the equivalent of an ALA MLS and the
required/preferred qualifications. Relocation to Wenzhou, Zhejiang
Province, is required.

The city of Wenzhou is a river port crisscrossed by canals and
tributaries. The Wenzhou-Kean campus is in a newly re-developed area
about 30 minutes outside of downtown, surrounded by picturesque
mountains that kept Zhejiang isolated from much of the rest of China
until recent decades. There are campus or city housing options. Chinese
even practice Christianity openly here, though proselytizing is
discouraged. If the scale of Beijing or Shanghai never attracted you to
an idea of working in China, this “small” urban area of 3 million plus
is discoverable, walkable, and the first subway is still a few years
away. Lots of local buses for 2 RMB (33 cents) and a generous taxi ride
is only 12 RMB (about $2).

The Chronicle: https://chroniclevitae.com/jobs/0000824911-01

Wenzhou-Kean University just received accreditation from the Chinese
State Ministry of Education, after an “in progress” operation. We are
admitting the 3rd class of about 500 students this fall.

Please sent any questions to me.
