Re: DVD shelf ready

I wanted to follow up and report back to the list a summary of the responses
I got to my initial inquiry (below) about vendors of shelf ready DVDs.  Most
people who responded mentioned MidWest Tape (http://midwesttapes.com/home )
(especially for mass market media); Action! Media
(http://www.actionlibrarymedia.com/) (for both mass market and more
specialized productions);  The Book House (www.thebookhouse.com
<http://www.thebookhouse.com/> ) was mentioned by one person and a sales rep
(not sure of their focus); and though no one mentioned them, I understand
from sales reps at Coutts Ingram (www.ingramcontent.com/), that they too can
supply DVDs and do it shelf-ready (mostly for mass market video).

Hi,

 

University of Massachusetts, Amherst purchases on average 535 DVDs per year.
We purchase from a wide variety of sellers/distributors, including those
claiming exclusive distribution rights. We've been wondering for some time
now whether or not there are any vendors in the U.S. marketplace who
sell/distribute DVDs and do shelf-ready processing of the DVDs? If you are
aware of such vendors, or in fact use one yourself for shelf-ready
processing of DVDs, would you mind sharing with me that information (off
list)?  If others are interested, I can compile responses and share with
you.  Thank you.
