Job Title: Digital Sales Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Increase sales revenue by consultative work with customers, discussing
and selling ebook offerings, workflow solutions and efficiencies.
Provide digital products and services expertise in the field for YBP
Sales Representatives. Communicate between YBP customer and internal YBP
staff to qualify and implement new digital products and workflow
services. Responsible for meeting/exceeding assigned goals of Company
including sales and profitability for academic digital sales within
territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The following statements describe
the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not
intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional
responsibilities may be assigned by Management):
· Plan, organize, coordinate and manage sales activities for digital
services within assigned geographic territory.
· Prepare and deliver sales presentations to customers in the Academic
market.
· Create, implement and manage the appropriate sales process utilizing
internal resources including using SalesForce software.
· Track and follow upon sales leads until closing.
· In collaboration with Sales Representatives jointly determine target
accounts; establish two-way communication concerning customer
requirements through all phases of the sales cycle.
· Work closely with Senior Sales Management to provide necessary input
for RFP, sales budgets and business plans.
· Advise Sales Management regarding pricing/discount recommendations for
customer/targets within territory.
· Coordinate with Sales Management and Marketing to plan and coordinate
all marketing materials for trade shows.
· Responsible for developing regional specific marketing campaigns
including group presentations and focus group.
· Communicate and assist in training internal departments on marketplace
digital needs and what new services are needed as the market moves from
print to digital content purchasing.
· Communicates all activities pertaining to territory, including market
analysis and funding information, to management.
· Develop and remain current on digital services used by academic market.
TRAVEL RESPONSIBILITIES
Position requires overnight travel. Overall travel is estimated at 50-75%.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree or minimum of five years experience selling in the academic
market.
Proven track record of sales success, preferably to scholarly libraries.
Two to five years experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Effective presentation skills, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM software.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or member of the business community and effectively
present information to management and public groups.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exist and
interpret instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.
