Reese Library of Georgia Regents University invites applications for the
position of Content Management Librarian. The primary focus of this
non-tenure track faculty position is the management of content,
including metadata, collection development, acquisitions, cataloging,
and serials. The position serves as chair of the Content Management
unit, supervising one Serials/Electronic Resources Librarian, one
Special Collections/Archives Librarian, and two full-time staff members.
Required:
* American Library Association (ALA)-accredited Master's degree in
library science
* Minimum of three years professional post-MLS experience
Preferred:
* Prior experience with metadata standards in a digital environment,
such as RDA, EAD, FRBR
* Management experience
* Collection Development experience
* Experience with the Ex Libris Voyager system and the EBSCO discovery tool
* Ability to generate and analyze statistical reports and make
evidence-based recommendations
* Evidence of ability to meet university standards in librarianship,
publication, research, and service
* Reference experience
Responsibilities:
The Content Management Librarian will provide strategic direction for,
oversee, and be responsible for all content purchased, organized, and
made available to library users on the primarily undergraduate campus of
an evolving, comprehensive research university. The position will be
responsible for staffing the unit, supervising and evaluating a unit of
two librarians and two staff members, and will report directly to the
head of Reese Library. As leader and coordinator for collection
development, the Content Management Librarian will oversee the
acquisitions budget, make final decisions regarding purchases
recommended by liaison librarians, and provide policy development and
planning. The librarian will manage metadata processes for the library,
working with other units on digital projects in an institutional
repository environment; manage a small quantity of original cataloging
and manage all acquisition processes; supervise a Special
Collections/Archives Librarian and provide content management support
for the unit; prepare statistical reports for assessment efforts; serve
as a liaison librarian to one or more academic units, including some
instruction; and support programs for digitization of library materials.
The Content Management Librarian is expected to be active professionally
in regional and national associations, will contribute to the
professional literature, and will participate in shared governance.

This position has faculty rank and status (non-tenure track). Benefits
