Electronic Resources/Acquisitions Librarian, Assistant or Associate Library
Professor

The University of Vermont Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative and
dynamic candidate to lead the acquisitions processes at UVM libraries. 
Working
collaboratively with key staff members this position will coordinate the
e-resource lifecycle, oversee the library’s electronic resource 
management (ERM)
system, and collaborate with university colleagues to coordinate license
revision and budget administration. As a vital member of the Collection
Management Services Unit the successful candidate will work closely with 
the
Director of Collection Management Services (direct report) to manage, 
monitor,
and analyze library budgets and funds. This position also works closely 
with the
Collection Development Librarians at Bailey-Howe and the Dana Medical 
Library to
foster a culture of collaboration, communication and assessment.

Responsibilities: Establish, monitor and manage budgets for Bailey-Howe
Library. Manage vendor relations; monitor and review licenses. Negotiate 
and
acquire materials in all formats; oversee renewal of continuing resources,
payment of invoices and tracking of resources in multiple systems 
including the
library’s ERM. Provide ongoing statistical analysis of UVM Libraries 
materials
budgets including budget projections. Oversee bindery operation. Train and
supervise paraprofessional staff; serve on various library, university and
professional committees, and participate in the faculty governance of the
University; engage in scholarship and creative activities, and service.

Required Qualifications: MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program;
Minimum 2-3 years' professional experience, including a supervisory 
role, in an
academic library environment that focuses on discovery and delivery of 
online
and tangible resources.Ability to inspire and motivate staff, promote 
diversity
and accountability.A strong background in acquisitions and budget 
management.
Experience in contract negotiation, vendor relations and a successful 
record of
library operations management including:

·Knowledge of collection budgets, funding models, and electronic resource
licensing;

·Knowledge of new and emerging models of acquiring, collecting, 
disseminating,
and providing access to scholarly information;

·Ability to extract data from multiple sources to produce reports for 
decision
making and coordinate acquisitions projects and workflows with related 
groups

·Ability to work in a technological and rapidly changing academic library
environment;

·Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate
effectively with a wide range of faculty, staff, and constituents.

Desired Qualifications:

Working knowledge of the Ex-Libris Voyager Integrated Library System;
familiarity with Electronic Resource Management systems, link resolver 
software
and authentication services. Knowledge of emerging digital preservation 
models
and electronic resource standards.

Salary and Application Information:

Salary is commensurate with rank and experience. Minimum salary for 
Assistant
Library Professor is $51,412; minimum salary for Associate Library 
Professor is
$61,693. Generous benefits package includes: TIAA/CREF (or alternative 
plan),
managed health care plan, and 22 days of annual leave.
