Cataloging Coordinator (Library Services Coordinator)

Salary: $2,915.47 to $4,113.20 monthly

The University of New Mexico Libraries (UL) has an opening in Discovery, 
Acquisitions, and Consortial Services for a Cataloging Coordinator. This 
position is a full-time, 12-month staff position with the job title of 
Library Services Coordinator. This position takes a leadership role in 
Cataloging & Discovery Services (CDS) and coordinates the activities for 
cataloging and database maintenance, including special collections 
cataloging, authority work, e-book cataloging, and database cataloging. 
The position reports to the Director of Discovery, Acquisitions, and 
Consortial Services (DACS), serving as the point person within DACS for 
questions regarding cataloging and will be a member of the DACS 
management team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performs cataloging for the Center for Southwest Research

* Catalogs databases and e-books that are individually purchased

* Maintains authority file work

* Coordinates specialized cataloging (e.g. Ibero, LoboVault)

* With Director of DACS, develops appropriate mechanisms for 
communicating collections information to the UL, UNM, and outside 
constituents.

* Serves as departmental liaison with other UL units to ensure public 
access and record maintenance.

* Supervises two FTE (full time equivalent) staff.

Minimum qualifications:



Directly related Master's or Terminal degree; at least 2 years of 
experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities 
specified.

OR

Bachelor's degree; at least 4 years of experience that is directly 
related to the duties and responsibilities specified.



Preferred Qualifications:



Three or more years cataloging using AACR2/RDA/MARC in a library.

Three or more years using an integrated library system.

Experience with cataloging authority work.

Experience using a digital repository such as DSpace or CONTENTdm.

Experience cataloging rare books and/or manuscripts.

Experience managing projects.

Supervisory experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Reading or better knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese
