Voyager now (8.1.0 release and newer) allows to set default ledger and fiscal period in the bulk import rule so batch loads can work while having 2 active fiscal periods. I, however, haven't tested this new feature yet. Have to wait until July, when I have both the old and new fiscal periods active :-)

We try to minimize the time that two ledgers are open because we do batch loads that create the order record as part of the process (using confirmation records from YBP). It was explained to me that these loads fail when two ledgers are open because the architecture of the system operates on looking for a correct fund and does not look additionally for a ledger. So two copies of the same fund is confusing and the file load fails.

Has anyone operated 2 fiscal year ledgers at the same time in Voyager? Our fiscal year starts May 1 and we would like to keep the old ledger open for a week or so to process invoices, all the while working in the new fiscal ledger, creating new POs. Has anyone done this?
