Description:
The mission of the ALCTS Publishing Program is to serve the information
needs of ALCTS members and the broader library community in areas of
expertise related to selecting, obtaining, preserving, and providing
access to resources required by library users and establishes ALCTS as
the leading voice in these functional areas.
Prior e-forums have addressed “Writing and Publishing in Librarianship,”
“Beyond 2010 the Year of Cataloging Research,” and “Looking Ahead:
Research Topics in Acquisitions & Collection Development.”
This e-forum focuses on ALCTS as a publisher and the various
opportunities that exist to publish with ALCTS for members and
non-members alike who wish to share their contributions and educate and
inform library practitioners, educators and students, managers, and
providers of services and content to libraries. ALCTS can help you get
published!
Are there gaps in the library literature for which you want to see more
research and publications?
What topics published as books and/or articles would assist you in
providing better services to users, make your library more efficient,
advocate for library support, envision/plan the library of the future, etc.?
Your ideas and insights will assist ALCTS in continuing to develop the
publishing program.

What is an e-forum?
An ALCTS e-forum provides an opportunity for librarians to discuss
matters of interest, led by a moderator, through the e-forum discussion
list. The e-forum discussion list works like an email listserv: register
your email address with the list, and then you will receive messages and
communicate with other participants through an email discussion. Most
e-forums last two to three days. Registration is necessary to
participate, but it's free. See a list of upcoming e-forums at:
http://bit.ly/upcomingeforum.
To Register
Instructions for registration are available at:
http://bit.ly/eforuminfo. Once you have registered for one e-forum, you
do not need to register again, unless you choose to leave the email
list. Participation is free and open to anyone.
