Do you have Libguides? You can do some nice looking stuff on there. See http://guides.lib.uiowa.edu/busbooks and http://libguides.pittcc.edu/newbooks for a couple of examples. We have a page on our Drupal website that highlights different new and featured collections and utilizes a Librarything widget as well: http://library.eku.edu/grand-reading-room-books. We also have a "New Titles" feature in Voyager that just pulls all things based on add date - it almost pulls too much stuff though - all the gov docs and everything else that gets added.
You have to find a balance between spending too much time on making huge, static lists for people to browse (and trying to keep them from going out of date) versus new stuff getting buried and not highlighted at all. We've struggled with it.

Subject: [ACQNET-L] Online Displays of New Acquisitions
Hello everyone,
I'm brand new to my position and was hoping to get some feedback from more experience Acquisitions and Collection Development Librarians. I work for an academic library who would like to find a way to display new acquisitions, particularly our approval plan books, online. We have tried some social media sites such as LibraryThing and Shelfari, but were unhappy with the display and the quality of the descriptive data provided for each title. I was wondering if anyone else has found an easy to use, professional looking tool that allows you to create digital displays of your recent acquisitions.
Thanks,
Lindsay Barnett
