The ALCTS AS Acquisitions Managers & Vendors Interest Group invites
panelists for a discussion on acquisitions functionality in
next-generation integrated library systems.
This Interest Group will meet at the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim on
Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 1:30 pm - 3:30pm in the HYATT-Grand Ballroom B.
The panel will include representatives of major ILS vendors who can
address how new systems handle traditional acquisitions functions, such
as print resource ordering, receiving, and invoicing; as well as new
functionality related to electronic resource acquisition and
maintenance, purchase-on-demand (ILL/ACQ), and digital resources.
The chairs invite librarian participants who have experience with
next-generation systems, but also anyone with interest, curiosity and
questions about the topic. What would you like to see addressed by
next-generation systems? How can workflows be improved? What new
workflows do you anticipate needing supported?
If you would be interested in sitting on this panel, please contact the
co-chairs:
Meg Manahan, Director, Technical Services, George Mason University
(mmanahan_at_gmu.edu)
or
Sadie Williams, Vice President, Business Development, EBL – Ebook
