Coordinator – Wilson Library
The University of La Verne is seeking a motivated and dedicated
Assistant Professor/Librarian of Resource Development and Services to
provide leadership and coordination for all resource/collection
development, management and access. This is a full-time, 12 month,
non-tenure track faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor.
This position reports to the University Librarian and is expected to
collaborate with subject liaison librarians. The selected candidate will
contribute to the profession through professional service and scholarly
activities, and will participate in faculty governance activities within
the Library and University.
Responsibilities and duties of the position include coordinating
selection, management, access and assessment of all library resources,
print and electronic; developing and implementing resource development
policies and procedures; serving as liaison to consortia, vendors, media
and book jobbers; maintaining necessary workflows to ensure seamless
access for faculty, students, and staff; supervising two library staff
positions; analyzing and reporting trends and data in material costs,
usage, and other factors for annual budget proposals; providing as
needed internal and external collection development activity reports;
and performing some research and instructional duties.
This position requires a MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program with a
minimum of two years experience in all phases and processes of
collection management, acquisitions, and fiscal management.
Additionally, a minimum of two years of experience supervising staff,
including professional performance evaluations and other administrative
record keeping is required. Strong budgetary, analytical and financial
decision making skills are necessary, as well as experience with
integrated library systems (preferably Innovative Interfaces Millennium
system), interlibrary loan, and electronic resource management.
Technology skills and experience appropriate for the position are required.

in cooperation with colleagues and library users in a diverse,
service-oriented, collaborative environment; possess strong
interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills;
be self directed, flexible and adaptable to change; be analytical,
creative, results and customer service oriented.
