My library director is considering some reorganization of departments and functions within the library and I am interested in hearing from those of you who do not have the traditional pairing of Acquisitions and Cataloging under a Technical Services umbrella. If this describes your library, please tell me how your acquisitions department is configured and what other function(s) or department(s) it is paired with instead of cataloging. If Acquisitions is separate from Cataloging, is the cataloging function paired with any other department or function? If you've done any creative reorganizing lately, what new names have you used, if any, to describe the new function(s) or configuration(s) of services? We are a small library with 14 librarians on staff so I am especially interested in how other libraries of our size and scope have approached the changing landscape of Acquisitions. Thanks very much for whatever you are willing to share.
