Washington and Lee University invites applications for the position of
Electronic Resources Librarian. Within a team environment, the
Electronic Resources Librarian provides leadership and direction for the
procurement, licensing, management and assessment of the library’s
electronic resources. He/she works closely with the Systems Librarian to
incorporate new and emerging techniques and technologies to facilitate
access to library resources. The Electronic Resources Librarian
participates fully in the library’s programs and services, which may
include responsibility as library liaison to one or more assigned
department(s), instruction, reference services and development of the
institutional repository. Additional information about the university

Qualifications: An ALA accredited MLS degree or its international
equivalent required. Desire two or more years of experience working in a
library, preferably in a college or university setting. Knowledge of the
principles and practices related to digital library services.
Understanding of issues involved in developing, maintaining, and
delivering electronic collections of various types including serials.
Prefer experience with electronic serials, licensing, Electronic
Resource Management System (particularly Innovative Interfaces’
Millennium ERM), and/or cataloging/metadata. Prefer experience with or
knowledge of vendors and content providers, including subscription
agents, publishers, and library consortia. Strong organizational,
communication and interpersonal skills.
