This has been an interesting thread to follow and raises another, related topic:
What role can (or should) consortia play in supporting ebook purchases for member libraries? Consortia have played a significant role in leveraging buying power to improve terms and pricing for ejournals but not yet in the area of ebooks.
I am preparing a brief presentation on this topic for the April ICOLC meeting and would be interested in hearing if others are exploring ebook purchases via consortia. If not, do you see ways in which consortia can help your libraries in this rapidly evolving area?
