On our campus, we've been contemplating asking students to vote on whether to assess themselves a fee to support the library. Some in the university's administration are unsure about this, so I was hoping to see if anyone on this list has helped to initiate something like this. What we have in mind is setting it at a certain dollar amount per credit hour and have student input on what the money would buy: increase in services, additional online content, etc. I'll be happy to compile any results if that would be useful to others.
