The Liberty University Integrated Learning Resource Center is seeking an
exceptional individual to assume the role of Resource Management
Librarian (Acquisitions) to assist in the acquisition and organization
of information resources to support the curriculum and mission of
Liberty University.
Principal Role: The Resource Management Librarian (Acquisitions) (RMLA)
assists the Information Management Department in fulfilling its mission
to acquire and organize information resources to support the curriculum
and mission of Liberty University. Specifically, the RMLA provides
oversight and administrative support to the acquisitions staff in
purchasing monographic, reference, and multi-media information resources
(includes electronic materials except for databases and large ebook
collections). The RMLA also provides oversight and administrative
support to the Periodicals Department, which acquires and maintains the
Library’s collection of journals, magazines, and newspapers (with the
exception of periodicals included in databases). The RMLA may also be
involved in evaluating and improving departmental methods, procedures,
and policies, and in long –range planning for the implementation of new
principles and practices for information acquisition, organization,
description and access. Depending on professional interests,
departmental needs, and ILRC needs, the RMLA may take on additional
information management projects or may assist other ILRC departments.
The RMLA implements the decisions of the Collection Management Team and
reports to the Head of Information Management.
Position type: This is a twelve-month position and carries faculty
