Register now for the New England Technical Services Librarians' 2009
Spring Conference!

Friday, April 17, 2009

9:30-3:30

College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA

The NETSL Spring Conference is just around the corner. This year’s theme
is “Working the Cataloging Landscape.” Learn how to make your data work
harder in these tough economic times! We will hear how to integrate our
library data into the information universe that is the Web (Karen Coyle,
Library Consultant); then Ted Fons, Director of OCLC’s WorldCat Global
Metadata Network, will tell us about current and future metadata
projects at OCLC. Other sessions include a discussion of the role of
“upstream” data from publishers in libraries, a description and
demonstration of a new approach to federated search, a look at one
university’s workflow solution for integrating Web resources into our
library collections, and a panel presentation of a variety of next
generation of library catalogs. And Rick Block, winner of the 2008
Library Journal Teaching Award, will tangle with RDA and the future of
MARC. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!

Visit http://www.nelib.org/netsl/conference-2009.htm for the complete
details and registration. We look forward to seeing you there!
