Interesting to hear. We have seen our serials invoices inflating less
than we expected, and a slight drop off in monographs being supplied on
approval.

I have not heard any official word nor have I really been studying it,
but
my feeling is that I am seeing greater increases. We have a shipping
charge
now from our monograph vendor where as we never had one before, and many
of
our subscription increases have been alarming. I have had one or two
vendors offer to work with us, but they seem to be in the minority.

It is University budget time and my administration was wondering if
publishers had lowered their projected price increases for 2009/2010. I
had
submitted projected price increases back in October so the University is
wondering and hoping that the increases are now lower than projected due
to
the current economy. I have not heard anything along those lines and
was
curious if anyone else had heard something to this effect.
