Greetings from ACQNET-L. Keith and I have been having lots of fun
figuring out the new list software and naturally we've had a few
stumbles.

For example, Keith had to change his settings so that the archives of
his ACQflash postings would be readable - some of the first ones don't
appear in plain text.

They ARE there, but they are hard to read. He fixed that so it's not a
problem anymore.

During the move, we lost a few postings, so if something you think you
sent us never appeared, let one of us know directly, and we'll get it
posted.

There have been a few duplicate postings. Also, occasionally a
non-moderated posting gets through. So far the spammers haven't found
us yet.

If it seems like there is a lot more traffic on ACQNET-L right now,
there is. I suspect it will settle down eventually. I am still grouping
postings together when they address the same topic whenever I can, in an
attempt to cut down the number of individual postings. You can always
set your subscription to "digest" to help with this.

I'll be sending out an updated "Welcome message" in a separate posting.

A reminder about the topic of videos and DVDs - don't forget about
VideoLib which still exists as far as I know. Information about it can
be found at:

http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/MRC/vrtlists.html Please use this for your
questions about videos when appropriate.

The old AcqWeb has been moved and is accessible, (www.acqweb.org) but is
still out-of-date. However, the new site is waiting for us to start
moving things into it.

More on that soon!

Thanks to Lisa Spagnolo for her help cleaning up the ACQNET-L subscriber
list and thanks to Eric Lease Morgan for his archiving work over the
years.

The old archives of ACQNET-L will remain with Eric (available thru
AcqWeb) but the new archives are being maintained by ibiblio at the
ACQNET-L site:

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about this list.
Thank you to everyone for being so patient while we made this move!

Sincerely,

Eleanor Cook
