Not sure if this will be of any help but from my former employee, The
Huntington Library, we utilized the services of Harrassowitz. They make
a concerted effort to help the customers since they are sort of a ma &
pa operation and not nearly as big as other vendors. I do credit them
for finding those difficult to find publications and obscure titles.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe they have a representative for the
U.S. Maybe I'm thinking of Swets but I'll throw that vendor out your
way in case it does help you.
Hope this is helpful. Good luck with the search.

Subject: [ACQNET-L] Vendors for non-English language books
Hello all,
I'm hoping you can help with an issue we're experiencing:
We're currently having trouble finding dependable vendors for
non-English language books for children (especially picture books, but
chapter books, as well). This is really a problem for non-Spanish
language items (which are pretty well covered by Baker and Taylor, our
primary vendor). We've had some success in the past with Pan Asian
Publications for Asian languages, and with Alphabet Garten for German.
However, usually with sites like these there is a limited number of
books available, and it does not often replenish, so after an order or
two you've bought all the stock you want. In general, these sites also
do not supply detailed information about book size, format, etc. In
terms of content, we look primarily for books that are culturally linked
to the language in which the book is published, not just translations.
So, are there any of the "big" vendors (Ingram, Brodart, etc) that you'd
recommend for this? Or are there independent distributors that have a
really great, consistently updated selection?
Thank you,
Leila
