Subject: RE - Is your library using a security strip application model?

I have used this model for applying security strips when I worked in
technical
processing.

I found that the strips do not stick to a lot of types of paper
(anything glossy
or aged), often strips would not stick to the paddle, and the machine
was prone
to jamming causing a lot of wasted strips. As well, some of my coworkers
found
the bang of the machine as the strip is applied to the paddle to be
disruptive.

That being said, WHEN it worked, it worked well.

We are looking at ways to apply security strips to books in addition to
vendor processing. One of the products we are looking at is the 3M
application system model
611.

I would like to hear from you if you are using the 3M model or a
different method of applying security strips.
