[ED. note: Book vendors out there - We take the responses we get - no
conspiracy here to promote
one vendor over another - and it's always best to communicate directly
with a subscriber with this kind of
query if you want to discuss details ...]

You might want to look at JT Data's JTacq free program.
Searches as many vendors as you want, makes lists and all
sorts of good stuff. The price is right for sure.

We've been using YBP for some time and it meets our work flow needs
(similar to what you are
asking) quite well. Within YBP's Gobi interface, our selectors search
and submit their choices or
"selections" and they get added to the Selection queue for our
Acquisitions personnel to then handle.
Each Acq person has their own login, and can search and collect the
selections in a multitude of ways
to suit the workflow (ie., we can gather all a certain selector's
submissions, or within a specific date
range, or for only a specific fund code or subject, etc.)

We get PromptCat records, shelf-ready service, and I like our customer
service reps as well
(and no, they aren't paying me for this.) We don't order videos or CD's
through them, so I can't
speak to that part of your request.

We are pretty satisfied overall.

We recently completed the process of seeking a new firm order vendor. We
had a situation identical to yours, and we were looking for the same
features as you are. The three companies we compared are Midwest Library
Service, Blackwell, and YBP. I will be glad to share our check-list of
comparison criteria that we used. We also had each vendor do a demo of
their software for tech services staff and our selectors. Our final
decision was YBP. YBP may not be the best choice for your situation (they
don't supply media, for instance), but in our case YBP has an excellent
track record within our academic consortium and interfaces well with our ILS
(Endeavor).
