Subject: Looking for new book vendor

Hello,
I'm new to this list. I'm sure this question gets asked on a weekly
basis. I would search the archives, but they don't seem to be working.
[Ed. note - they were not working last week but they are now]
Here it goes.

We are looking for a new book vendor. We have been with one vendor
for a long time, but we are finally trying to get away from using order
cards and start using an electronic ordering system. Our current vendor
can do that, but their system is extremely clunky. We want to be able
to have selectors make lists of books that go to a budget person for
final approval, then to a technician to be actually ordered. Our vendor
makes the budget person and the technician sign-in as each of the other
selectors to see the lists they have created. They don't actually have
any mechanism for this process.

We want something like a "submit for approval" button for each
selector. Then the list could be viewed by the budget person for
approval, then when approved it would go to the technician for ordering.

The other feature we want is the ability to request books that are
not in the vendor's database, even if there is an extra charge to get
them.

We also want good service, good discounts, full processing service
and PromptCat cataloging. It would also be nice if they can handle
videos and CDs as well. Can anyone recommend a vendor for us?
