Subject: Gift Books from China

Hi all -

My university is partnering with a college in China and the university's
primary contact in China wants to send us 300 books as a gift. The
partnership is new and I don't have any other information about
this situation.

Our contact in China has a question about what needs to be done in
terms of customs requirements and if there are any fees, taxes, etc.,
that must be paid. I have no experience with this, but perhaps
someone on the list does.

Or is this question something that should be referred to the
university's lawyer?

Thanks.
