Subject: Update on ACQNET and AcqWeb

Greetings ACQNET subscribers,

This message is to let you know about a couple of recent developments.

First - we will have a new ACQflash editor starting this week - Keith
Powell,
Acquisitions Librarian at UC-Irvine (kpowell_at_uci.edu)
will be making his debut in this role. Please make a note of this if you
are filtering your email.

Which means we are saying a fond farewell to long-time ACQflash editor,
Rick Anderson.
Rick has been and will remain a steadfast part of the ACQNET Editorial
Board. He is
moving on to a new position as Associate Director for Collections &
Scholarly Resources
at the University Utah this month. Congratulations to Rick and Welcome
to Keith!

What's happening with AcqWeb? A group of librarians, headed by Ajaye
Bloomstone, are
busy on working on a prototype to replace the current AcqWeb. More on
this as we have something to share.
In the meantime, a small group of ACQNET subscribers are in the process
of testing a site for something
similar to ACQNET, based on blog software. If we can make this platform
work like we want it to,
we'll be in business and will invite others to join. It's not public
yet. We want to transition to something that
will allow for RSS feed capability or similar. More on this too very soon!

All the best,
Eleanor Cook
