Subject: Collection Development Policy for PDFs
I have been asked to come up with a collection development policy
specifically for
PDF files. Often titles are issued only in PDF format. There are times
when we would
like to print out a copy of the title, when legally permissible and add
it to the library collection.
Do any libraries have guidelines for printing, cataloging, and adding
PDF files to the collection?
If the subject of the PDF title fits into the library's collection
development criteria, is it
automatically printed out? Any guidance will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Deborah
