Subject: Approvals and vacations
Hi there,
We are just receiving our first shipments of approval books
from a major vendor. Could anyone please share with me their
procedures for displaying the books for selector viewing?
Do you only keep one shipment for viewing at a time? What is your
rotation?
How long do you allow the books to sit before moving them along to the
collection?
What do you suggest to accommodate vacations? If a selector is gone
away for several weeks, I would not want to hold onto their books until
they came back. It would be confusing, and it kind of defeats the
purpose of the approval plan getting books to the shelves quicker!
Any other general words of wisdom appreciated, but specific procedures
related to the above queries would be very much appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance,
Jane Schmidt (formerly Binksma)
