Hi, Albert --

It sounds as if you've been targeted by Pentium Capital (a.k.a. American
Directory Listing Service).  Be prepared for a phone call from someone
who won't give you her full name, and who will respond with angry legal
threats when you start asking questions about how the "order" came
about.  She called herself "Mrs. Larson" when I had my own encounters
with her.

I posted a couple of detailed accounts of my library's dealings with
this company in 2005, and there was also a story in the Chronicle of

Bottom line: if you didn't order it, don't pay for it.  Ignore the
threats; the last thing this company wants is to see you in court.
