Subject: Question about serials growth rate

Hello, All,
Can anyone give me an average growth rate for print periodicals?  By 
this, I mean the
amount of shelf space to allow for annual growth.  We're missing our 
serials librarian, and
need a quick answer if possible.  Also, if you know where this is cited, 
that
would be a huge help.
