You probably already know about this, but the Library Materials Price Index
Editorial Board of ALA/ALCTS publishes an annual article in the Bowker Annual
titled "Prices of U.S. and Foreign Published Materials." There are several
indices which cover books which are broken down by subject. North American
Academic Books (based on data from the major academic book vendors)& U.S.
College Books (based on data from _Choice_). Both have several years worth of
data in each index so you'd only need the last two or three Bowker Annuals
to obtain 5 years of data. There is also an index for British Academic
Books, also broken down by subject.

Hope this helps!

We have been asked to do a five year budget projection for monographs
to support a curriculum proposal for a doctoral program whose students
will focus on research in genetics/genomics/, nursing and public health.

I am looking for an analysis of STM (science/technology/medicine) or
health sciences book prices and trends. I would appreciate article
citations
or referral to knowledgeable persons who might be able to point us in the
right direction.

Thanks for your help! kst
