Subject: Public Librarians and training to write RFPs
I am working on an Acquisitions 101 presentation to be done at the Texas
Library Association
Convention in April 2007. I am interested in hearing from any Public
Librarians who have any formal training
in RFP writing. I am particularly interested in training that has
occurred outside of library school.
I have attended 4 classes in purchasing (writing specifications, RFPs,
evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts)
at the University of Texas at Austin's LBJ School of Business. What
other avenues have librarians found out there
(besides books and articles) for learning about RFPs?
Thank you.
