Subject: Trade Publications for Library Vendors

Hello, Everyone,

I am on a committee that is in the initial stages
of preparing an RFP for book vendor services (new books;
continuations; technical processing; notification; etc.),
and wondered if others on the list knew of any vendor
trade publications that an RFP might appropriately
appear in. Since we are only at the beginning stages of
constructing this, it may be a bit premature to worry
about where it will be sent to. I imagine that we will
be partially constrained by state guidelines we must
follow as a public institution, so this matter may be
irrelevant from the get go.

With that disclaimer, I would welcome any information
people have about likely places (published sources
in print or online) that are likely to have a large
vendor readership, if not a trade or association
publication itself.

Thanks for the advice. And please, before anyone
offers the advice that we must be crazy for working
this process as an RFP instead of "majestic bestowal,"
you may be assured that we've already been so advised.

Thanks!

Victor Lieberman
