Hello,
I know some publishers and vendors read acqnet, so I hope the rest of 
you will forgive me if I direct a brief
message to those companies currently working with the University of New 
Mexico Libraries.  There was a fire at
UNM on April 30 in the basement of our Zimmerman Library. We are trying 
to alert our vendors that our acquisitions
and serials activities have been temporarily suspended. We plan to 
resume activities sometime next week, but we know
it will take time to catch up. Our technical services personnel are 
working in other libraries in our system. Most
people have email connections, but not all people have phones yet. No 
one was hurt, but we did see some losses
in our periodicals, as well as smoke and water damage. If you have 
questions, please contact me.
