In my previous message, I did not break down the processing costs as
Marynelle Chew did. I would include the cost of librarian's time for
acquisitions to replace the title especially if it is OP, the
acquisitions tech time to reorder as well as the copy cataloger which
she has included in OCLC charge. Also, it may require time from the
cataloger, who is a librarian, if there is not a record available.
That is how we came up with $10, which I think is a little low. I recall
an amount of $13 from a study done about 12 years ago by a bibliographer
for our Community College shared database system.
