ACQNET: ISBN's required for E-books?

Subject: ACQNET: ISBN's required for E-books?

Hello all:

One of our faculty members wants to know if e-books are required to
Have an ISBN.   I don't think one is required, but I thought I would
post to this list to find out if anyone knew.  Does it make a
difference in ordering?  My guess is obviously yes, but I'd like to
hear your opinions.

Any thoughts, ideas, and  information are welcome.
