ACQNET: Tracking multiple volume works

Subject: ACQNET: Tracking multiple volume works

Greetings all,

What methods do you use to track multi-volume sets not published
all at the same time or series that spring into being after volume 1
is published?  We find that often we'll order volume 2, but not
realize that it's volume 2 until it gets here. Or we'll have volume 1
and not be aware of volume 2 until we stumble upon volume 3, etc.

Do you set up tickler files?  Spreadsheets?  Rely on cataloging to
alert you?  Any particular workarounds at time of order?  What have
you found most effective?
