Subject: Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

Hiya. We are a big place and try to collect materials from all over the
world (regardless of? in spite of? no matter what?) the political or
international relations situation. Recently we've had a couple of queries
from our bank about a couple of payments -- for an Iranian organization (in
the UK), and a Sudanese archeological program -- also I think based in the
UK.

The queries refer to OFAC -- the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Long-time staff here say they've never received these before.

Are other institutions with international collecting programs getting more
of these sorts of queries? So far they've only asked for more information
about the recipients -- which, again, have been UK bodies, and thus
evidently non-problematic.

thanks
Steve Corrsin
