Subject: Auctions and eBay and such

Colleagues,

I'd be glad to hear any useful information about the use of auction houses,
and also services such as eBay, for acquisitions purposes. This would
include the question of who handles the work: in particular, whether
selectors/ collection managers are allowed to do this on their own, or
whether they are required to work through acquisitions staff.

I wish I could clarify or limit that request. I searched the AcqNet
archives and came up with very little useful information. I think it might
be best to respond directly to me rather than the list, and then I could
summarize them for the list.

Thanks
Steve Corrsin
