Subject: RE: Question about E-book meeting
[Ed. note: We have requested that someone send a report ]
I'm also interested in the meeting but can't attend. I'd like to know
if panelists discuss business
models. I'd like to purchase a greater range of e-books outright,
unbundled, loaded on local servers.
The e-book business model seems to favor paying an annual fee for
access to content on a vendor site.
This leaves the usual questions of archiving & preservation, erosion of
purchasing power due to
ongoing access fees, etc. If anyone is willing to post notes of the
meeting, it would be appreciated.
Thanks.
