Subject: Approval Plans

My name is Alexandra Polson, I am in the marketing department of Ashgate
Publishing.
I have been asked to create a report about approval plans, from a
librarian's perspective.
I have a good understanding of how they work from the publisher's end,
but once the books
leave our warehouse my knowledge level decreases. To avoid bombarding
the list, please
send responses directly to me.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. My questions are as
follows:
Do you use an approval plan or a notification slip plan, or a
combination of each, and why?
Which jobber(s) do you use for your approval plan/notification plan, and
why?
What criteria was used to create your profile? Was the faculty closely
involved in creating the profile?
What happens to the books once you receive them (are they all
automatically put into circulation, or
are they reviewed first)?
On average, how many books do you receive per shipment?
What is your rejection rate?

Please feel free to add any other comments that relate to these
questions, or address something
in the topic that I didn't mention.

Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

Sincerely,
Alexandra Polson
