I'd suggest getting in touch with libraries who buy poetry to see if
they get it through approval vendors such as Yankee Book Peddler and
Blackwells. If the vendors know they can sell your works, they are
often willing to add your press to their approval press lists. They
can't make poetry a hot seller, but for those who do buy poetry, vendor
services bring your titles to our attention.

I generally use Choice and Library Journal reviews, also NYT book
reviews.
We have kind of an unusual situation in that we have a small endowed
account specifically for poetry. Since I don't buy a lot of poetry on a
regular basis, I asked one of our English profs who is himself a poet
(Pulitzer prize winner) for a list of recent poetry works we should
have. He gave me a big list and we've been working on it. Faculty input
is a large part of our selection process.
Kudos to you for staying plugged in with librarians! Hope you find this
helpful.

Dear Folks,
We publish a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Though
our poetry books have won awards and grants and garnered wonderful
reviews, sales are of course small. Poetry just isn't a hot seller
in the US! What wholesalers and magazines do you folks refer to when
buying poetry?
(I've been a "lurker" on this list for a couple of years and have found
it immensely helpful in learning what issues are important to
librarians.)
Many thanks for ideas, leads and feedback,
Cynthia Frank
