Subject: RE - Foreign currency conversion

Hello Fellow-Acq-ers, when purchasing from overseas vendors, our first
choice is billing in US$.
If the vendor only offers billing in their home currency, we e-mail with
them beforehand stating that we will
use the conversion rate on the day that we're processing the invoice, we
note the exchange rate on the invoice
and the source of the information. Although PayPal and procurement card
is an option for us, using them for
other-currency purchases has never arisen for us.

For the day's rates, we use mostly Oanda and XE from our currency
conversion tools on our Acquisitions
page at http://faculty.winthrop.edu/maysa/AcqTools/AcqDept_Currency.html
    Best,
        antje
