Check this out:

An Australian bookseller has solicited feedback from librarians to set
up their business model for sales to libraries. They've already been
selling ebooks to individuals for years. I learned about them at a recent
conference and I think they are planning to launch the library-focused
side of their business this year, but I haven't seen a press release so I'm
not really sure about that.

FYI,
We've ordered individual e-books direct from netLibrary for years
without problems. They have several different ways of submitting orders-
we find it simpler than using a vendor. My advice is to talk to your sales
representative for what will work for you. Depending on what we are
buying, invoicing sometimes goes through Amigos (because
we buy collections, we can get a small discounts). The sales
representative at netLibrary will help identify any licence agreements or
other paperwork needed.

All,
For those of you who might be ordering E-books separate from collections
... good luck.
I think I posted to this list initially asking if folks had any
experiences they'd like to share. I didn't hear from many folks re:
that, but several emailed and wanted to know what we were doing. We
went with a vendor that we normally order print copy from. Big mistake.
I suggest going straight to Netlibrary (not sure if they'd be better,
but it would cut out the middle-person).
It's been a very frustrating experience trying to contact our vendor to
make sure the orders went thru...1/2 did, 1/2 didn't, though we were
told that until we had 25 separate titles, the vendor couldn't put
through our order to Netlibrary (their contract requirements); we had a
question re: the contract with Netlibrary...that took days to resolve.
More and more I'm thinking electronic books...yuck! We are still in limbo.
Just wanting to share....
deborah...
